Visiting the Algarve This Summer? You're More Than Welcome at the Studio.

April 2026·7 min read

Every summer, people arrive in the Algarve from all over the world and ask me the same question: can I come to a class even though I'm only here for a week? The answer is always yes. You are absolutely welcome at the studio, whether you are here for three days or three months.

This post is for you. The person who has just landed at Faro Airport, or who is sitting by the pool in Quinta do Lago wondering how to fit a Pilates class into their holiday. I want to tell you exactly what to expect, how to book, and why coming to a class in the Algarve might be one of the better decisions you make this summer.

Yes, Drop-Ins Are Welcome

I know that some studios make it complicated. Memberships, waiting lists, introductory packages you have to commit to. That is not how we work here. If you are visiting the Algarve and you want to come to a Reformer Pilates class, you can. You do not need to be a regular client. You do not need to have done Reformer Pilates before. You just need to book a spot.

The easiest way to book is through the booking link on this website, or by sending me a message on WhatsApp. I check messages every day and I will always get back to you quickly. If you have never done Reformer Pilates before, just let me know when you book and I will make sure you are set up properly from the start.

Where We Are

The studio is in Almancil, which is one of the most central and well-connected towns in the Algarve. If you are staying in Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo, Vilamoura, Loulé, or anywhere along the EN125 corridor, you are probably no more than ten to fifteen minutes away by car.

Almancil is also very easy to reach from Faro, which is around twenty minutes east of us. If you are coming from Lagos or the western Algarve, the drive is longer, but clients do make it and tell me it is worth it. The studio has parking, the area is easy to navigate, and the town itself is lovely. There are good restaurants and cafés nearby if you want to make a morning of it.

What to Expect if You're New to Reformer Pilates

The Reformer is a spring-based resistance machine. It looks a little intimidating the first time you see one, and then within about ten minutes of your first class, you understand exactly why people come back every week. It is one of the most intelligent pieces of exercise equipment ever designed. It supports your body and challenges it at the same time, which means it works for complete beginners and for people who have been training for years.

Our group classes are small. A maximum of eight people. That is intentional. I want to be able to see every person on every Reformer, give adjustments, and make sure the class works for everyone in the room. You will not get lost in a crowd. You will not be left wondering if you are doing something correctly. We will look after you.

Classes are 50 minutes. Wear comfortable clothes you can move in. Grip socks are required on the Reformer. If you do not have a pair, we have them available at the studio. Bring water. That is genuinely all you need.

What if I Already Do Pilates at Home

Then you will feel right at home. If you have a regular Reformer practice wherever you live, coming to a class here is a lovely way to keep your body moving while you are on holiday. A lot of my summer visitors are experienced practitioners who simply want to maintain their routine while they are away, and they often tell me they enjoy the different perspective that comes from working with a new teacher in a new space.

If your Pilates background is mat-based rather than Reformer, that is also absolutely fine. Mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates share the same principles and many of the same exercises. The spring resistance of the Reformer adds a dimension that mat work cannot replicate, but the foundations are the same. You will adapt quickly.

The Algarve in Summer. Why Movement Matters More Than You Think

Summer in the Algarve is wonderful. It is also, if you are honest about it, quite physically demanding in ways that sneak up on you. Long days at the beach, a lot of sitting in the car, golf in the heat, padel in the afternoon, late dinners. Your body does a lot, and it does not always get the recovery it needs.

Fifty minutes on the Reformer is one of the best things you can do for your body mid-holiday. It is not a punishment. It is not a workout you have to earn. It is 50 minutes of intelligent, controlled movement that leaves you feeling longer, lighter, and more mobile than when you walked in. Clients regularly tell me they sleep better after a class. That their back feels better. That they feel more present in their body for the rest of the day.

If you are here for a week and you come twice, you will feel the difference. If you are here for longer and you come consistently, you will notice changes that go beyond the holiday.

The Wellness Circuit

If you want to make the most of your time at the studio, we also have the Wellness Circuit. It is an hour-long recovery experience that moves you through infrared sauna, compression leg sleeves, and red light therapy, followed by time to relax, make tea, and shower. It is available to book alongside a Pilates class or on its own.

A lot of visitors combine a Pilates class with the Wellness Circuit and make a proper morning of it. It is a genuinely lovely way to spend a few hours, and your body will feel the difference for the rest of the day.

Private Sessions

If you would prefer a one-to-one session rather than a group class, private sessions are available. These are particularly popular with visitors who want a more personalised experience, who are working around an injury, or who simply prefer the focus and pace of working individually. Private sessions can be booked for one person or for two people together.

How to Book

The simplest way to book is through the booking link on this website. You can also send a WhatsApp message or an email. Both are on the Contact page. I will always confirm your booking and send you everything you need to know before you arrive.

If you are not sure which class or session is right for you, just ask. I am happy to have a quick conversation and point you in the right direction. There is no obligation and no pressure. Come and try it. That is all.

I look forward to seeing you in the studio.
